James studied theatre at Illinois State University and cut his improv teeth with The Free Associates in Chicago. He studied at Improv Olympic and The Groundlings in LA, but had to leave when they stopped taking payment in major organs and pints of blood. He's represented by RPM Talent Los Angeles and lives in perfect tranquility with his girlfriend. She really wants a schnauzer, but he'll be damned if she ever gets one.
